The New Cities' opening for Katy Perry yesterday night was absolutely phenomenal. The stage expoded with sound, lights, good music, and CHARACTER - an act not often seen by an opening band (who in my experience are often disheartened by the fact that they are not the main attraction, and tend to provoke a similar reaction in the audience). There was enough energy on the stage to fully enthrall an audience goer, and even those who are, alas, not prone to rocker-esque likes and movements could be seen bobbing and arm-throwing and occasionally even jumping. Stellar effort by each and every bandmember- not one was left in th background (although the uncharacteriscally good looks by each may have been a contributing factor). David proved to be quite the showman - a literal frenzy of crazy dance moves, expressions and overall crowd involvement never failed to leave them wanting more. The bar was set extremely high!
No doubt we shall very soon be seeing them playing the main act at Molson.
